Wind Symphony
Craig Mohr, conductor

Wind Symphony is Loma Linda Academy's premiere band, with a rich history of musical excellence. This award-winning ensemble performs for thousands of people annually and travels extensively, including national and international tours, festivals, and competitions.

Notable international performances have included tours to Italy, France, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, England, Hungary, Austria, and the Netherlands. Wind Symphony was one of the featured performing ensembles for the 2013 Los Angeles International Music Festival at Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The band was also the featured musical ensemble for the Mother's Day Celebration in New York City for the New York Mets (Citi Field). Playing frequent televised concerts, Wind Symphony works to captivate and entertain audiences with traditional, modern, sacred, and popular wind band literature.

Previously known as the Loma Linda Academy Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony has had the opportunity of working with and performing for some of the world's finest band composers and conductors. Most recently, Wind Symphony worked with film composer and conductor Tim Davies, UCLA Wind Ensemble conductor and composer Travis J. Cross, and world-renowned wind conductor H. Robert Reynolds.

Wind Symphony is available for advanced students in grades 8-12 by audition only.

Students are required to rent or purchase an instrument by the second week of school. We recommend that instruments be rented or purchased from Nick Rail Music in Redlands. The band performs twice a year, at the Christmas and Spring concerts. Students who play oboe, bassoon, French horn, or percussion are required to take private lessons throughout the year.
