Concert Winds (Junior High and High School) auditions are held after school over the last weeks of May.
Wind Symphony (High School only) auditions are held the last two weeks of July.

Audition Information
Wind Symphony (High School students)
•. All 12 major scales and arpeggios memorized, two octaves where possible. Three octaves where possible (clarinets and flutes)
Scales are played tongued going up and slurred coming down.
Percussion scales are played full range on the xylophone.
• Chromatic scale full range of your instrument memorized
• Both audition etudes (not memorized)
Concert Winds (Junior High and High School students)
• Going into 8th grade or older: Major scales and arpeggios memorized: Concert C, F, B flat, E flat, A flat, D flat, G, and D
• Going into 7th grade: Major Scales and arpeggios memorized:
Concert C, F, B flat, E flat, A flat
• Chromatic scale of 2 octaves memorized
• Scales are played tongued going up and slurred coming down.
• Percussion scales are played two octaves on the xylophone.
• Both audition etudes (not memorized)
All percussionists will perform the scales as well as the etudes for snare drum, xylophone and timpani.
Students who audition for Wind Symphony but do not perform at an acceptable level may be invited to play in the Concert Winds at the director’s discretion.
Students are expected to audition in person at the Loma Linda Academy band room.
